Job Description:
Our client is looking for a motivated and skilled Automation Engineer to join their team. As the first hire for this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape how automation is built and delivered within their company. You’ll be working directly with the founders, contributing fresh ideas and innovative solutions to help solve critical problems and deliver real value. As an Automation Engineer, your primary focus will be to design, implement, and manage automation workflows primarily using Zapier, Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft AutoGen, and Azure. You will also be responsible for setting up and managing the necessary infrastructure, including virtual machines, to ensure the automations run smoothly and reliably. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of these systems, provide strategic input on best practices, and build efficient processes from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize automation workflows primarily using Zapier and Microsoft Power Automate to streamline various business processes
- Design and implement multi-agent workflows using Microsoft AutoGen to automate complex tasks, allowing seamless collaboration between AI agents and tools
- Develop and customize AutoGen agents with advanced capabilities, including the integration of large language models (LLMs) and real-time code execution to solve complex automation challenges
- Leverage your knowledge of Python and Node.js to build custom scripts or integrate advanced automation features when required
- Design, deploy, and manage automation solutions within Microsoft Azure, leveraging Azure services such as Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions for scalable cloud-based automations
- Integrate Power Automate with other Azure services, such as Azure Blob Storage or Azure SQL Database, to streamline data flow between systems
- Set up and manage the infrastructure required for running and maintaining automations, including configuring and managing virtual machines (VMs) to host automation processes
- Collaborate directly with the founders to discuss innovative ways to automate tasks and continuously improve efficiency
- Monitor and troubleshoot automation workflows, ensuring error handling and providing support for debugging issues
- Create audit trails and logs to maintain a clear history of automation activities, including success and failure statuses
- Continuously optimize automation processes for performance and scalability, while ensuring security and reliability
- Provide guidance on automation best practices, related technology, and infrastructure management.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal English proficiency
- 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Zapier or similar automation platforms
- 3+ years of experience developing automation scripts using Python and Node.js for custom integrations
- Experience with Microsoft AutoGen or similar multi-agent frameworks for task automation, and familiarity with configuring large language models (LLMs)
- 4+ years of experience managing Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines and cloud services like Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Monitor
- Proficiency with Azure Active Directory for secure authentication and Azure DevOps for CI/CD
- Experience building automations that work with Microsoft Outlook, ZOHO CRM, ZOHO Books, and Google Sheets
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, with strong communication skills and able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Able to continuously communicate to keep key stakeholders informed of project progress, successes, challenges and timelines
- Proactively communicates strategies to overcome obstacles and improve processes
